Printing at MU

Printing services at MU are intended for MU students and are accessible at all MU faculties. Services include printing, copying, and scanning. Credit top-up machines are a part of the system. Printing services at MU also include the Merchandise Retail System (MRS), which is available only at select locations. You can use the MRS to purchase items for binding your documents.

Printing at MU is self-service. First, you must deposit money on your SUPO account using a credit top-up machine, by making a cash deposit at the SUPO cash desk, or by wire transfer from a bank account. Then all you have to do is send your document to the printer and subsequently use your ISIC card to start the printer. You can find detailed instructions below.

Since 1 February 2016 a newer version of SafeQ5 software is being tested at the University Computer Centre.

Printing instructions
Printing services must be pre-paid. Therefore, the first thing you need to do to print is deposit money on your SUPO account. You may deposit money at credit top-up machines – List of credit top-up machines These machines only accept banknotes.

Once you have the necessary credit, you can begin printing. Send your document(s) to the printer. If you do not know how, see the detailed instructions below. When printing, there are a few basic principles you should follow: First chose whether you would like to print in black-and-white or color. You can check the status of your print jobs here: Make sure the jobs you want to print have the status PŘIJATO [accepted]. In order to cancel a job, you must select it and click ZRUŠIT [cancel].

Once you have ensured that you only have documents that you actually want to print in the print queue, lock your computer and go to the printer. Begin printing by touching your ISIC card to the reader located on the printer. After authentication, you may choose the operation you would like to conduct (print, copy, scan). If you wish to print more than one document, you can either print them individually (by selecting them from the queue) or you can print them all at once by selecting TISKNOUT VŠE [print all]. Once your print job is complete, the display will tell you how many pages have been printed (or copied or scanned) and the total amount that will be deducted from your SUPO account. In order to log out of the printer, touch your ISIC card to the reader. If you do not log out, you will be automatically logged out after one minute of inactivity.

How to print without an ISIC card

You can print without an ISIC card using a specially genereted PIN that you use for authentication on the printer. The PIN can be generated here: It is valid only for 24 hours.

Printing from laptops and mobile printing

You can only scan with an ISIC card or with a PIN code. In order to scan, you must have an active SUPO account.

You can only copy with an ISIC card or with a PIN code. In order to copy, you also need enough credit on your SUPO account.
